Melody of Life~Kizuna(krekotaku.com) - Pt 7

Mr. Hamano arrived at his office, he pass the main door. tag his ID card at the main lobby."Good morning Mr. Hamano", says two female workers at the lobby. "Good morning to you too!" he reply with a smile. He went upstairs by an escalator. All the workers who passes him never left to say 'good morning' or 'hi' to him. Surely, everyone in the building loves him.

Mr. Hamano enters his office room with a smile as usual.He took his seat on his chair and laid back for awhile.He looked around his room.His eyes then stopped looking around when he saw a family portait hanging on the wall.

There was him standing in the potrait and smiling as if he is the happiest and luckiest person on earth.In the same potrait,there is a woman,middle-aged with a boy sitting on her lap.Both of them are smiling as proud as him.

As if there is something touching his heart gently,Mr. Hamano could feel the emptiness in his life for the past decade.
"I am so sorry,Ai-chan..I wish I could be with you..taking care of Kai together.."he murmured.Unconciously,he gets up and walks towards the potrait.He touches the faces on the potrait gently.

"I wonder how you both are doing...Oh,God..please let me see my son at least just once,"he prayed.

Meanwhile...

Shibuya....

Kakuno: Oii! Hurry up! you're gonna be late!
Kai: Ok! ok! I'm coming!
Mr. Hideyuki ignite his car engine. Grey smokes starts come out of the yellow car exhoust. The boy came out of his house and lock the main door & gate. Along with him is a laptop.
Kakuno: What's with that?
Kai: Oh, Junno lend it to me. You have a net connection at your restaurant. Don't you?
Kakuno: Yeah, com'mon hop in!
The car take off in a rush.
Kakuno: What do you want to do?
Kai: I'm sending a mail.*paused a while* To my aunt at Malaysia.

As they arrived at the restaurant, Mr Hideyuki lets Kai use the net connection in the restaurant to e-mail his aunt back in Malaysia.After he's done,Mr Hideyuki brings Kai to the kitchen, there, a few workers already there, preparing vegetables, meat and some other stuff to make a cuisine.
Kakuno:Everyone attention please!*the workers gathered* meet Kai, he's going to be our new staff starting today. Junno, I want you to teach him making some sushi, starts with kappamaki.
Junno: Right sir.*nod*
Kakuno: The rest may continue your job.
Other staffs:Yes sir!
*all the staff back to their kitchen & positions*
Junno: Kai, come, let me teach you.
Kai: OK..
Junno: can you take 4 cucumber inside there?*pointing at one of the fridge*
Kai: *open the fridge and pick up 4 cucumbers,then giving it to Junno*
Junno: thanks. now lets start with cutting the cucumber like this.

Junno cuts the cucumber into quarter-half. Kai observed carefully. Then, Junno went to the other side of the kitchen, there's a big wood bucket. And then he take some seaweed from a chefs kitchen. He put the nori carefully on his kitchen infront of Kai and lay it like a paper.
Kai:This is Nori right?
Junno:Yup! now, let's see...OK, now open that wood bucket.
Kai opens it. There's a lot of rice in it.
Junno: Now grab those rice and put it on this nori(seaweed).
Kai grab the rice and put it on the dark green nori. Then he leveling them all over the nori.
Junno:*smile*Good job! I think u got the idea.
Kai: thanks...now i have to put the cucumber here right?
Junno: Em!*smile*Where did you learn this?
Kai: I saw them on TV...err..but i don't know how to roll this.
Junno: This*showing a wooden bamboo layout*..you use this to roll them.

Junno pick a piece of cucumbers and lay it horizontally at the end part of the sushi roll. then, he covers the cucumber with the nori layered rice. slowly he tightened the roll using the bamboo layout until it shaped into a long cylinder. Junno takes the roll out and cut them into smaller pieces.

Kai: (shocked) wow, that looks easy. just like Kuih
Junno: Ehh!?Ku-e?
